Zen Kenpo Atemi Jitsu is a hybrid style combining techniques from several arts to provide a more comprehensive approach to the martial arts.

Times change. The way societies function changes too. People change along with their surroundings and so martial arts should also keep up with the times. How you are attacked now is different from 100 years ago and this is the same whether in real life or in competition.

Zen Kenpo Atemi Jitsu explores all ranges of martial arts to enable the practitioner to gain a wider understanding of a physical confrontation. To summarise, we cover:

Taking influence from ITF Taekwon-Do and kick boxing we introduce dynamic striking techniques using the feet, hands, shins, elbows, knees and more. You will be taught how to block, evade and parry techniques as well as strike your opponent.

Taking influence from grappling arts we look at what happens when, whilst on your feet, you come into close range with your opponent. You will learn standing grappling, judo throws, standing submissions and take down techniques in order to control your opponent and remain in a dominant position.

Taking influence from Ju Jitsu and submission grappling you will learn how to stay in a dominant position whilst on the ground, how to improve your position, how to submit your opponent and how to effectively strike whilst on the ground.

The gi is the white uniform worn by martial artists. It can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Throughout the above ranges we will show you how to use the gi to your advantage in throwing, submitting, choking and transitioning through positions.

This is why we use the phrase 'MMA in a gi'. MMA is probably the most popular combat activity at this time so we emulate the comprehensive nature of this sport. However, we take it that step further by putting a gi on you and covering you in 100 handles. Wearing the gi will make your defence tighter and your techniques stronger.

We are confident that you will not find anything like this in the local area at this time. So come and have a free trial session and see how you can benefit from this effective martial art.
